The two championship races at the Royal St. John’s Regatta this year resemble last year with both resulting in back-to-back wins.
Capital Home Hardware led from start to finish in the men’s race while Volkswagen St. John’s won the women’s title.
It was breezy at times, less so at others, but it was sunny and warm and there were people aplenty everywhere.

One issue which affected rowers was the presence of weeds at the top of the pond, affected their choice of which lane to row.
The Regatta Committee had been trying to drag the weeds from the pond but some oars, especially in stakes close to The Boulevard side, became entangled.
It’s not clear if low water levels may have contributed to the problem.
