A 49-year-old man from York Harbour has been charged and a number of weapons seized on the province’s west coast.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary searched a home in the community and seized a number of illegal firearms.

The accused is facing charges of careless use of a firearm, contravention of use, storage, handling and transport regulations, possession at an unauthorized location and possession of a prohibited and restricted firearm with ammunition.

The accused has been released to appear in court at a later date.
