We’re only a few more weeks before kids head back to school and the Single Parent Association NL needs your help to make sure every child is prepared to return to class.
The Block the Bus school supply drive in partnership with the VOCM Cares Foundation is up and running with donations being accepted at a bin in the Village Shopping Centre.
Danielle Seward, executive director of SPANL, says demand is off the charts this year with a record number of families in need.
She says there is a specific need for supplies for teenage girls.
Seward says they’re running out of supplies for girls in grades 7-12. Specifically, one inch binders, geometry kits and graph paper.
Your VOCM will be live on location at the Village Shopping Centre this Friday from noon to 4 p.m., blocking a Metrobus full with school supplies.
