Two men are facing charges after barricading themselves inside a home in Woody Point Sunday night.
RCMP in Rocky Harbour received a call from Woody Point around 6:30 p.m. from a woman in distress.
The woman was taken to hospital for assessment and treatment.
As part of the investigation, officers attempted to pull over two men in a car, but the vehicle sped away.
Police did not pursue, but Deer Lake RCMP spotted the same vehicle at the scene of a disturbance at an Irving gas station. A second traffic stop was attempted, but the suspects failed to stop, and fled on the Trans Canada.
The men were located several hours later at a home on Water Street in Woody Point where they were barricaded inside a home with a third person.
All three eventually surrendered to police without further incident and were arrested.
Twenty-year-old Joshua Roberts was held in custody to appear in court on a list of charges including flight from police, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with a probation order. A 34-year-old was released on conditions and is expected to appear in court at a later date. A woman was also taken into custody, but was released without charge.
Further charges are possible as the investigation continues.
