The Avalon Mall says it’s been made aware of people who have seen unauthorized charges to their credit card that appear to come from the mall.
Administration declined further comment, but it did share a post on social media indicating that the charges are as the result of a fraudulent third party using their name without authorization.
The mall is offering assurances that its systems have not been breached, and they do not process any online payments.
They’re recommending that anyone who notices suspicious transactions on their bills to contact their bank or credit card provider immediately to report the charge, request a new card, and dispute the transaction.
The Avalon Mall is also advising shoppers to stay alert for phishing emails, texts or calls pretending to be the Avalon Mall. The administration says it will never ask for credit card information by phone, email or text.
