There’s a major development regarding the Bay du Nord project.
Norwegian-based BW Offshore has signed a head of Agreement with Equinor Canada as preferred bidder for the FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading unit) for the project.
Under the HoA, BW Offshore and Equinor will continue discussions on all technical and commercial aspects of the FPSO project.
The FPSO will be tailored for a harsh, sub-Arctic environment, and will support the production of up to 160,000 barrels of oil per day. It will feature a turret system that can be disconnected, and topsides that will include technology to reduce emissions.
The FPSO will be designed for future tiebacks to increase the project’s long-term viability.
