The provincial government is adding to its electric vehicle charging station network.
Government is putting up $3.8-million and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro $460,000 for four fast-charging stations next year in southern Labrador.
This phase will also include an additional ten ultra-fast chargers, capable of charging compatible EVs to up to 80 per cent in as little as 20 minutes.
St. John’s East, Carbonear, Grand Falls-Windsor, Corner Brook and Hawke’s Bay will each get two new stations.
This expansion complements the initial installation of 11 ultra-fast chargers scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
In addition to the fast chargers in place and planned, there over 220 public and private level 2 charging ports at sites such as government facilities, hotels, shopping areas, restaurants, and office buildings.
