RCMP say a 55-year-old man reported missing earlier this month has been found dead.

Port Saunders RCMP received a missing person’s report on September 15th about a man last seen in Castor River South the previous evening.

A search of the area failed to turn up any sign of the missing man.

RCMP were contacted yesterday indicating that a body had been located in the area.

The body was recovered with the help of resource enforcement officers with the Department of Forestry, and Long Range Ground Search and Rescue volunteers.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office is involved in the investigation.
