RCMP picked up four people across the province for drunk driving on the weekend, including a man in his 70s.
The man was driving westbound on the Trans Canada Highway in Grand Falls-Windsor late Friday night in the eastbound lanes. Officers intercepted him and took him back to the police station, where he blew twice the legal limit.
Deer Lake RCMP nabbed a 28-year-old man in the wee hours of Sunday after his vehicle crashed on the TCH. He, too, failed the breathalyzer.
Clarenville RCMP stopped a car in a restaurant parking lot on Manitoba Drive early Sunday morning and charged a 40-year-old woman whose alcohol readings were above the legal limit.
Around suppertime Sunday, police in Natuashish were approached by a 22-year-old woman who showed signs of alcohol impairment. They found three flasks and a bag of what they believe to be cocaine on her.
