Numerous charges have been laid against a St. John’s man who was wanted by the RNC, and arrested by Holyrood RCMP after he crashed his car.
RCMP attempted to pull over a vehicle that had allegedly fled from RNC early Tuesday morning.
RCMP say the suspect vehicle ignored their attempt, and sped away. The car left the road a short distance away, and the driver was arrested.
Police say 24-year-old Jacob Waddleton showed signs of intoxication, and he failed to comply with police demands. He tried to run from officers, but was taken into custody without further incident.
He was brought to hospital as a precaution and a blood demand was made, which police say he refused.
The RNC then took Waddleton – who was wanted on two separate flight from police charges and was under a Canada-wide driving prohibition – into custody.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on charges of refusal, resisting or obstructing a police officer, driving while prohibited, and flight from police.
The investigation continues.
