There’s a significant discrepancy in the price of gas between the least expensive and most expensive in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Avalon Peninsula is the only place in the province where you can buy gas for under $1.50 a litre – it’s $149.4.
Gas costs $1.50-something on most of the island, but it’s $160-something in isolated areas of the south and southwest coast such as Ramea. That’s even more expensive than most of Labrador. Gas in Goose Bay, Churchill Falls and Lab City-Wabush sells for between $1.55 litre and $1.59.
However, things go up another notch on the north coast and in much of Labrador South where it retails for $1.77.
The most expensive place in the province to buy gas is The Straits to Red Bay and Lodge Bay to Pinsent’s Arm where it will set you back $1.81 per litre according to the Public Utilities Board.
