Three people have been arrested after RCMP seized drugs and weapons from a car in Bay Bulls early yesterday morning.
A vehicle on the main road caught the attention of the RCMP in the wee hours, so they pulled it over and found that the 52-year-old male passenger was wanted on outstanding charges.
Additional officers from the Holyrood and Ferryland detachments were summoned as alcohol and contraband cigarettes were visible inside the vehicle.
The driver and remaining passengers were arrested.
A further search resulted in the recovery of weapons, cell phones, baggies, pills, drugs and other items consistent with drug trafficking.
A 34-year-old woman faces the most serious charges – possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
A 41-year-old man and the 52-year-old man face less serious charges.
