Violence Prevention Avalon East says the mother of a young girl who was allegedly abducted by her father and taken to Egypt is devastated.

RNC this week issued an arrest warrant for 36-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Shafik Abelfat Elgammal for abducting his five-year-old daughter in contravention of a custody or parenting order.

RNC were notified on September 27th and the release of information was cleared by the courts earlier this week.

Olivia Lynch says the child’s mother is holding up as best as she can, but it’s been a stressful time.

“She needs her daughter home,” says Lynch, “she told me the other day she needs her daughter more than her daughter needs her.” Lynch says occasions like Halloween only add to the feeling of loss. “She was talking about Halloween and how she wanted to have her daughter out for Halloween, and that won’t be happening now.”
