A man whose name is no stranger to the courts has been arrested and charged with stealing a vehicle and assault with a weapon.

Jesse Lewis was arrested on Friday afternoon after police received a report that someone had been assaulted in Makinsons and their vehicle was taken without their consent.

RCMP say 28-year-old Lewis was arrested and held in custody to appear in court on the charges, in addition to uttering threats.

Bay Roberts RCMP say the investigation continues.

Lewis was held in court pending a bail hearing today.
