RCMP are reminding drivers that snow means slow after most areas of the province saw its first snowfall this past week.
RCMP in eastern Newfoundland responded to at least six reports of vehicles that had left the road or crashed into other vehicles during Thursday night’s ice and slush.
While most collisions were minor in nature, one in Clarenville resulted in one person being taken to hospital with injuries.
Drivers are reminded, now that winter is rearing its frosty head, to monitor the weather forecast, give yourself extra time, keep a wider distance between you and the vehicle ahead, and stay home if conditions are really poor.
