The music community is remembering Ron Hynes on the 10th anniversary of his passing.
Considered by many to be one of Newfoundland’s greatest songwriters, his songs remain staples in bars and on radio throughout the province and even overseas in Ireland.
He passed away on November 19, 2015 at the age of 64 following a battle with throat cancer.
A founding member of the Wonderful Grand Band, Hynes was also successful as a solo artist, and penned some of the province’s most popular songs including Sonny’s Dream, Cryer’s Paradise, Atlantic Blue and a favourite at this time of year, I’ll Be There Christmas Eve.
