The minister of justice and public safety says she and other government officials recently met community leaders in areas affected by the wildfires on the Conception Bay North Shore.

Helen Conway Ottenheimer says they wanted to hear directly from those affected to learn more about what is needed and what gaps may exist.

“And we felt that that is the most important way to analyse, going forward, what steps have to be taken, and if there were missteps, that we could improve upon, and so that we don’t repeat previous mistakes.”
