Those requiring criminal record checks from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary can now submit their applications online.

RNC Constable Steph Myers says its hoped that the online process will help to shorten the wait list for those requiring the documentation for employment and volunteer positions.

She says the start of the school year is traditionally a very busy time as people volunteer for a variety of sports and activities, often resulting in a backlog of applications.

Constable Myers says people can now go online and complete the process in a few short minutes.

“It’s available 24/7, and is convenient and accessible” says Myers, “we do still have those traditional main-in drop off spots for those who can’t apply online.”

She says anyone who already has a criminal record check in the system need not re-apply.
