There’s some heavy weather on the way for a chunk of the island Sunday night and Monday with most areas to be blanketed in snow.
The system will begin as snow on the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas, but then change to rain overnight and into Monday. It will also be windy.
However, in Terra Nova National Park, central Newfoundland and on the west coast, the snow begins this afternoon and continues through Monday night.
Amounts will be in the 15-30cm range but, with winds gusting to 60-70, visibility will be compromised and conditions will be blizzard-like.
