The mining industry has applied to build a project which would expand shipping capacity on the Baie Verte Peninsula.

PRMT is proposing an expansion of the Point Rousse Marine Terminal to export aggregate and armor stone from Shoreline Aggregates, its sister company.

The expansion would increase the company’s aggregate export capacity and provide multi-user infrastructure for bulk minerals and metals from development and regional mining projects.

The proponent has been using the current facility for about the past ten years, and adding a second berth would extend operations by at least thirty years.

The expansion is currently going through the Environmental Assessment process.
