The minister of Education is responding to concerns after some schools in metro had to remain closed yesterday after parents were initially told it would be a delayed opening.
The announcement came out early yesterday morning that metro-area schools would have a delayed opening of three hours.
As the morning progressed, however, some schools sent out notifications notifying parents that they would be closed all day because their parking lots would not be cleared in time.
In a statement to VOCM News, Education Minister Paul Dinn says there were no issues with contractors, and due to the “significant” nature of the storm it took longer than hoped to get everything cleared.
