It may be spring on the calendar but Old Man Winter isn’t done with this province just yet.
Environment Canada has issued winter storm warnings for most of central and eastern Newfoundland.
Meteorologist Melissa Field says the highest amounts are expected on the Avalon.
Forecasters are calling for 25 to 40 cm in the metro region with the bulk of it coming down overnight.
Things will then transition to ice and then to rain as temperatures rise above the freezing mark around lunchtime.
Things will be less intense west of Clarenville with 20 to 30 cm in store.
The west coast and Northern Peninsula will sit this one out.
