The city of St. John’s has cleaned up a foul-smelling spill on Waterford Bridge Road, but how it happened is unknown.
City staff were called about the spill yesterday morning.
Drivers in the area report that the smell was so bad it made them sick. One listener told VOCM News it smelled like a combination of rotten fish and putrefying bird feces.
The city says the spill was cleaned up, but what it was, and how it happened, is something they’re still trying to figure out.
