The winter of 2025-26 may have been hard on people’s backs and shovels, but it was a dream for snowmobilers.
Glenn Green of the Western Sno-Riders says they started grooming trails earlier this year and are still grooming trails now in mid-April.
That’s not been the case in recent years. “And in the in-between stages, (we had) minimal rain, but lots of snow.”
He says it was a great year for snowfall, and cold temperatures to keep the ground underneath solid. That made trail grooming easier.
“It’s been a banner year” says Green, “we were long overdue.”
