This coming Wednesday is National Film Day in Canada and the St. John’s Women’s Film Festival is hosting a free screening of the movie, “Midnight at the Paradise.”
The movie was directed by Vanessa Matsui and stars Liane Balaban and Allan Hawco.
Hawco was most recently in the remake of the hockey film, “Young Blood,” and you can also see him on CBC Gem in the series, “Saint Pierre.”
“Midnight at the Paradise” is a film abut an aging rock star who is going through a mid-life crisis and who’s smitten with a 24-year-old woman.
Hawco says going out to the movies is a passion for him.
“I don’t think there’s a better experience when you’re collectively in a room taking in the theatre. You can’t talk, you can’t be on your phone – it’s a great experience,” says Hawco.
You can see the movie for free Wednesday night at the Avalon Mall.
