The Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade was kept on the hop over the last few days responding to brush fires.
The fire brigade says in most cases the fires were related to residents cleaning up properties after the long winter.
The brigade is asking homeowners to keep fires small, and to use an approved device to burn rubbish and brush, covered by a screen to prevent flankers and spread.
Never leave a fire unattended, and if you do have to leave the site, make sure that the fire is fully extinguished.
The brigade is also reminding homeowners to have a water hose handy and to keep a distance of 10 feet from any structure.
