A long-time member of the defunct Team Gushue curling rink is heading to Manitoba to join the Matt Dunstone rink.
Brad Gushue announced his official retirement earlier this year, choosing the Brier in St. John’s as the swansong to his decades-long professional curling career.
That left Mark Nichols, who has played third with Gushue since 1999, without a home rink.
Team Dunstone, fresh off its 2026 Brier championship performance today announced that Nichols is joining them.
Nichols has an Olympic gold medal, a World Curling Championship, and several Brier championships under his belt, in addition to countless other gold and silver medals.
The 46-year-old Labrador City native replaces second E.J. Harden, who previously announced that the 2026 Brier would be his last.
