The people who dispense medications are concerned about the new digitalized health information system which Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services will begin rolling out in the next couple of weeks.
Pharmacists who work in hospitals say they are already short-staffed but the new CorCare health system will significantly increase their administrative workload.
Dr. Ashley Waghmare, who is president of the Pharmacists Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, says members who work in hospitals will be doing double the work they now have on their plate.
She says they will have to enter orders in the old system and the new system.
Dr. Waghmare acknowledges that the work is necessary, but says when everyone is already over-worked, it will make for a difficult situation.
