Keep those snowblowers gassed up and shovels on the ready, an unwelcome spring snowstorm is in the offing for residents of the Avalon Peninsula.
There will be snow down for today’s suppertime commute but it shouldn’t be enough to cause any major trouble.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Avalon Peninsula with close to 20 cm on the way for the metro region between this afternoon and Saturday morning.
Meteorologist David Neil says with the temperature being around zero, the snow not going to be easy to move.
“There will be less than 5 cm down this afternoon, so people will have to take their time driving home as the snow will be wet, which could mean slushy roads,” says Neil.
