The issue surrounding so-called trap houses was raised in the House of Assembly again yesterday.
Concerns are increasing about the number of homes, some of which are owned by NL Housing, which have become magnets for criminal and disruptive behaviour in some neighbourhoods.
Liberal MHA Sherry Gambin-Walsh raised the matter yesterday with minister responsible for NL Housing Joedy Wall.
He says government is working with the Housing Corporation and RNC to close trap houses, but acknowledges, “it’s very difficult….We will ensure that we can work with the public to make sure the trap houses are closed, and to provide safer communities ‘for all of us.'”
