Liberal Leader John Hogan says he’s pleased that the federal government is considering regulatory changes that would ban the use of social media for children younger than 16.
It comes after he introduced his own Private Member’s Motion calling on the provincial government to do the same.
The federal government’s new legislation is expected to be tabled in the House of Commons this week.
The legislation is expected to allow for a new regulatory system to address different kinds of harmful content.
However, the new plan is not expected to include a ban on AI chatbots.
