Mining Minister Lloyd Parrott says there’s a “real buzz” on the Baie Verte Peninsula as the region hosts its 37th annual mining conference.

Parrott delivered the conference’s keynote address last night.

He says there are a lot of exciting things happening in the mining sector, not only on the island, but in Labrador as well.

“The mining sector is on bust,” says Parrott. “Last year I think there was somewhere around $6-billion in mineral shipments out of the province, over 9,000 jobs and expansion. You know, it’s good. It’s really good what’s going on here.”
