Canada is going to the knockout round of 32 in Los Angeles after a second-place finish in their group following a loss to Switzerland.

The Swiss came out strong in the second half, scoring twice in ten minutes to take a 2-0 lead. Canada scored late to pull within one and controlled the play for the last 20 minutes with several glorious chances to tie, but it was not to be.

Head coach Jesse Marsch says this is exactly where they want to be.

Canada will play the second-place team in Group A Sunday in Los Angeles.
