School’s out for summer.
Today is the last day of classes for students in the province’s K-12 system, with many receiving their report cards today and then running out through the doors to enjoy their two-month break.
The last day for teachers is tomorrow, which will be used as an administrative day to tie up any loose ends.
With more children expected to be spending time outside now that this school year is done, Constable Steph Myers of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says road safety is top of mind.
She says there will be more people out on the roads, sidewalks, in subdivisions, and near playgrounds, so drivers are being asked to reduce their speeds and watch for people.
