The province’s largest road race kicks off this morning, meaning that a number of road closures also kick in.
The race starts in Paradise and travels along Topsail Road through Mount Pearl before ending at Bannerman Park.
A number of streets are closed until lunchtime.
St. John’s parking restrictions:
5 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Circular Road, from Rennie’s Mill Road to Empire Avenue
7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Military Road, from Garrison Hill to Cochrane Street
8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- Topsail Road, from Burgeo Street to Columbus Drive (In this section, eastbound traffic may be permitted at reduced speeds under the direction of traffic control personnel)
- Columbus Drive, from Topsail Road to Bay Bulls Road
- Topsail Road, from Columbus Drive to Cornwall Avenue
- Cornwall Avenue
- Hamilton Avenue, from Cornwall Avenue to Leslie Street

Paradise road closures:

- Topsail Road – from Stanhope Drive, Eastbound to Roundabout, McNamara Drive will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. (Tely 10 Starting area).
- Topsail Road – Stanhope to Clearview will be opened to all traffic via a detour from Lanark to Clearview Road or vice versa to Stanhope until 7:40 a.m.
- McNamara Drive – Access to Topsail Road, eastbound from McNamara Drive, the roundabout will be closed from 7:40 a.m. to 8:25 a.m.
- Karwood Drive/Trail End Drive – Access to Topsail Road (East & West) from Karwood Drive/Trail End Drive will be closed from 7:50 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- Topsail Road (Trails End Drive to Kenmount Rd.) – Access to the East and westbound lanes of Topsail Road heading toward Mount Pearl will be closed from 7:50 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- On the Outer Ring Road WEST at Exit 43, the ramp will be closed to westbound traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- On the Outer Ring Road EAST at Exit 43, the ramp will be closed to westbound traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- Kenmount Road WEST, the ramp will be closed to westbound traffic from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
- Kenmount Road EAST, the ramp will be closed to westbound traffic from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
