The province says it is moving forward on its commitment to build ferries in Newfoundland and Labrador, but the official opposition believes government is “backtracking” on their promise.
Last week, government issued an RFP for a consultant to look at the capacity that exists here to build the vessels.
Liberal transportation critic Jamie Korab says the PCs promised to build three new ferries here, but there was no costing done and no plan for it.
Korab believes the PCs were “misleading” in their promise, and they should have been more upfront about the realities of building ferries in the province.
