MUN’s Faculty of Engineering is apologizing after some students received registration information before being accepted to the institution.
Concerned parents took to social media this week after MUN apparently sent some students a registration prompt, only to email later indicating that the messages had been sent in error and that the applicant had not yet been accepted.
The Faculty of Engineering says it recognizes the upset and confusion the mistake has caused and is putting practices in place to prevent something similar from happening again.
In a statement to VOCM News, the faculty says the email in question was not an official letter of acceptance but contained registration information intended for students who have already been accepted to the program.
Final decisions on applications will be made once high school grades are released later this month.
