Three cell towers were heavily damaged, but there were no injuries following a fire in the capital city’s downtown yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters contained a blaze on the roof of the old NewTel building on Duckworth Street near McBride’s Hill.

Platoon Chief Derek Hunt says the fire was mainly contained to the roof, directly below the cell towers on the Bell Aliant building.
The cause is under investigation.
