A 44-year-old man is facing 12 charges including intimidation of a witness, as the result of an investigation launched by Deer Lake RCMP last week.
RCMP received a number of reports alleging that Conrad Crocker was repeatedly making unwanted contact with someone both in person and by phone in violation of his court-imposed conditions.
Crocker and his victim were known to each other.
Crocker’s vehicle was spotted on the Trans Canada last Friday and an officer tried to pull him over. Instead of stopping, he sped away and his vehicle was later found in Deer Lake, prompting a police advisory asked the public to avoid the area.
Crocker was eventually tracked to a home in Corner Brook with the help of the RNC.
He was taken into custody in the early morning hours on Saturday.
He’s facing charges of assault, uttering threats to cause harm, criminal harassment, intimidation of a witness and failing to comply with a release condition.
Crocker was held in custody pending a court appearance on November 3rd.
