The three Maritime provinces have signed an MOU with the federal government to work together on addressing energy issues in the region, but Newfoundland and Labrador’s eyes are on other projects.
The agreement was announced on Thursday, with questions immediately being raised about why this province is not a part of the deal.
When asked about this province’s absence from the agreement, Premier Tony Wakeham said their focus is elsewhere.
That includes the negotiations with Quebec and development of the Upper Churchill, a new transmission line to Quebec, and exploring increased capacity for the Maritime Link.
