Labrador is the next stop for the Hope Air expedition, which touched down in St. John’s late last week.

The organization, which provides travel and accommodations for people who have to travel afar for medical appointments, is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Pilots will be landing in Happy Valley-Goose Bay this morning for an event at the Woodward Aviation hangar from 11:00-2:00.

Jaclyn Sullivan, the executive director the Atlantic branch of Hope Air, says the event will bring together patients, volunteer pilots, community members and partners.

She says community demand in the province is greatest in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and the sixth greatest in the country. Health Minister Lela Evans is among those who will be in attendance. As well, they will be giving away ice cream and somebody will win two tickets to anywhere PAL flies.

The organization runs on donations and volunteers.
