Americans might like Canadians, but Donald Trump’s presidency and his constant threats against his neighbours to the north appear to have soured the relationship Canadians have with their American cousins.
A new Angus Reid survey shows only 45 per cent of Canadians view the American population positively, whereas 79 per cent of Americans have a positive view of their northern neighbours.

Angus Reid says the disparity may be due to what it calls the “attention gap” between the two countries – citing the continued trade dispute between the U.S. and Canada as a key source of unrest for Canadians.
Ninety-one percent of Canadians say they are following the tariff dispute compared to 69 per cent of Americans.
In the meantime, 79 per cent of Canadian respondents say they have a negative view of the U.S. President.
