A local financial advisor says the province and the capital city need to be ready for the economic boom to come from renewed hydro development.
Larry Short of Short Financial, a division of iA Private Wealth, says it’s time for the capital city to “muscle up” and hire more staff to prepare for and respond to greater pressure on the local housing market.
Short says the capital city – and the province as a whole – should be hiring people to help with planning and development.
“My thought is that the bottleneck may be in the planning department, putting more bodies there, streamlining procedures, making sure that we’re ready for further development including more real estate development in the local area.”
