The Premier is weighing in on questions raised about new Hilroy excerise books featuring an incomplete map of Canada.
Generations of Canadians are familiar with the iconic map emblazoned across the front of exercise books, but a new glossy covered version of the scribblers is missing Newfoundland and Cape Breton.
Premier Tony Wakeham says “you can leave Newfoundland off an exercise book, but you can’t erase us.”
Hilroy notebooks are coming under fire after leaving off the island of Newfoundland and Cape Breton Island from the cover(VOCM News).
Hilroy, which has been providing exercise books to Canadian students for more than a century is owning up to the mistake.
It admits that a production error that left Newfoundland and Cape Breton off the map on their glossy cover design “stings.”
The company says it’s stopped distribution of the item in question.
Hilroy is even offering replacements or refunds to those who reach out.
