Much of the island is going to get a rinsing this weekend as a slow-moving low pressure system lies to the south.
There’s a special weather statement out for the Avalon Peninsula with the heaviest rainfall expected Saturday night. David Neil, a meteorologist at the Gander Weather Office, says most parts of the island will be soggy to some degree.
He says the current model forecasts 40-70 mm of rain through Sunday.
It will also be breezy, but winds are not expected to reach warning stage.
