A tracker located inside of an item from a store helped lead the RNC to a suspect on Sunday.
Police were called just after 4 p.m. to a business in the east end of St. John’s.
They say a 42-year-old man took an item that contained an anti-theft device, which lead the officers to him. The man fled on foot, but he was still carrying the item and police tracked him to a nearby backyard where he was arrested.
The accused is facing charges of theft and breach of probation. He was held for court.
