The Teachers’ Union says its members need professional learning on the fast-moving technology that is Artificial Intelligence.

A policy guide on the use of AI in the classroom was being drafted in 2024.

Union President Dale Lambe says teachers need the latest tools and skills in order to best prepare students.

“Teachers need meaningful, professional learning to be provided. It can’t be an add-on, it can’t be something done at the end of the day. It really requires thought, and it requires a lot of strategy, because we’re tasked with making sure the youth are prepared for a world with Artificial Intelligence.”
