The Department of Education has increased the number of high schools offering skilled trades education for the 2026-27 school year.
Twenty-one high schools will see increased skilled trades courses this school year, including Design and Fabrication, Skilled Trades, residential Construction Technology, and power and Energy.
The province says skilled trades courses have also expanded to six additional rural schools through the Centre for Learning and Development Innovation.
All waitlists have been eliminated for skilled trades, offering greater options for students.
