Corner Brook Pulp and Paper has registered an ambitious renewable energy project with the provincial government for environmental assessment.
If approved, Project Tuckamore will see the development of a 155 MW wind farm in western Newfoundland, including 22 wind turbines and associated infrastructure. For example, a transmission line will connect the wind farm to the existing substation in Massey Drive.
The proposal also includes upgrades to Deer Lake Power’s facilities, road improvements, site preparation, turbine installation and the construction of electrical infrastructure.
Kruger announced its plans to help revitalize Corner Brook Pulp and Paper earlier this summer.
The deadline for public comment is October 16th.
