The provincial government has released the details of the special debate on the new Churchill Falls MOU.
The House of Assembly will be open next week from Monday to Thursday, and proceedings will begin at 10:00 in the morning and run through to 9:00 at night.
The debate will happen in blocks; from 10:00 a.m. to noon, then from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Question Period takes place at 8:20 at night.
Government House Leader Lloyd Parrott says a host of experts will be invited to the legislature to answer questions including members of the negotiating team, the board of NL Hydro, the oversight panel, and federal government officials.
The list of experts and when they will be speaking will be released later today.
Parrott outlines how the final day of the debate will go.
He says each member in the House of Assembly will have a 10 minute timeframe to speak on the document, then the resolution will be brought to the floor of the House of Assembly after Question Period.
